The FUGU team

CSR refers to the social and environmental concerns integrated into the activities of an organisation. In other words, it encompasses all the practices implemented by a company to contribute to sustainable development issues in the social, economic and environmental fields.

We are committed to the environment and are involved in the changes of tomorrow. Our commitment to sustainable development has been part of our strategy for many years. By favouring reusable structures, we offer an innovative solution to our clients which tends to considerably reduce the production of waste and wastage at the end of each event. We make every effort to offer responsible and sustainable products, and we are transparent about our practices through our environmental charter. This is why we are in the process of obtaining ISO 20121 certification.

Long neglected by the events sector, the CSR principle is now taking on its full meaning in this field! This is why we want to promote the sustainability of an event by improving each of our actions. The objective is to continue to enhance your events while respecting the environment and society. It's all very well to talk about ecology, but what do we actually do?

Making an impression without harming the environment

Our structures

Our DNA and our commitments lead us to opt for sustainable and intelligent structures. For example, the geodesic shape of our domes has many advantages! Not only is it easier to heat thanks to excellent air homogenisation, but its design also allows for maximum space utilisation with minimum surface area. This is the architecture that requires the least amount of materials to build the largest volume. As a result, this type of structure takes up less space to transport to an event and significantly reduces the energy and material costs involved in its construction.

Thanks to the steel connectors we use when installing the domes, it is possible to assemble and disassemble each structure easily. This method of construction increases their durability, guaranteeing an average life span of 5-15 years for our steel dome and over 5 years for the wooden dome.

As you can see, the design of our architecture is optimised to provide greater durability and our cube installations are no exception! Thanks to the use of 44.2 glass, the cubes have excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. This ultra-resistant laminated glass limits energy consumption, while providing comfort and safety.

Our materials

Steel is an ultra-strong material that offers some of our structures many advantageous characteristics. Its exceptional longevity of several decades allows our installations to be reusable and at the same time to avoid the zero waste effect after each event. Reconditioned, washed and maintained after each use, we store them indoors to give them a second life.

Wood has become a key element in our constructions and has the advantage of being a modern, resistant and easy to maintain material that is perfectly suited to the realisation of your responsible event! Indeed, this natural and renewable material absorbs CO2 instead of rejecting it.

We place particular emphasis on the selection of our suppliers. For example, our dome fabrics come from the Italian specialist Serge Ferrari and the German company Mehler, who offer innovative products with high durability, thanks in particular to a very strong and light polyester. This material is highly resistant to UV, weathering and fading. In contrast to conventional heat-stretched fabrics, the PVC crystal fabrics used for our domes can be used again and again for several events, while retaining their brilliant appearance.

A network of partners who share the same values

Our network

Within our distribution channel, we favour actors who are aware of their impact and who act for gentler solutions. Our main suppliers, such as the Estonian company Kodasema and the Slovenian company Lushna Glamping, have opted for an approach in line with our values.

Our supplier Kodasema is developing a concept of ecological and nomadic houses. They aim to reduce their energy consumption by using resistant materials (triple glazing, LED lighting system,...) and minimizing their waste. Their methods were in fact awarded at the DNA Paris Design Awards 2018 in Sustainable Living and Green Architecture. We collaborate with the company Lushna Glamping, which meets high ecological standards. The larch wood they use is made up of several layers of wood and eco-friendly textiles, making it reusable and adaptable to each season.

Thus, the expertise of our entire network contributes to minimising our carbon footprint. Slovenia and Estonia, where our partners come from, are regions covered mainly by forests and renowned for wood processing. This European proximity allows us to avoid the air network and to use road transport for our projects.

Our partners

We are committed to developing a 360° CSR strategy through the involvement of our employees. In this sense, we always strive to offer our customers more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternatives.

Sharing our values, the partners we work with seek to limit their environmental impact in their manufacturing. It is important for us to value the eco-responsible practices of our suppliers, but also to promote their quality know-how!

The Eleys thermal engineering office thus supports us in our energy performance. This company, which is committed to ecological development, offers us effective thermal insulation solutions to save energy.

Through its long-standing partnership with Energy Observer, FUGU also supports a logic of sustainable technological transition and solidarity. Pioneers in their concept of a hydrogen-powered vessel, Energy Observer develops both human and environmental values that are close to our hearts.

Our management

CSR aims to take into consideration the managerial and social aspects of a company. Working at FUGU also means being part of a warm, inclusive and respectful team! All of our employees are aware of the environmental issues at stake and are directly involved in their implementation. For example, several eco-gestures are practised daily in our offices: selective sorting of waste, limiting paper printing, use of our own dishes, etc. The holacracy that drives our day-to-day work allows each member of the team to be fully integrated into the life of the company by allowing them to manage their own missions. From a managerial point of view, the recruitment of personnel is intended to be inclusive through the employment of young people and seniors.

Taking into consideration the well-being of our employees, several actions have been put in place to ensure their personal development: the possibility of teleworking, the incentive to exercise thanks to a GymLib subscription or flexibility in the management of holidays. And the little extra that makes the difference, we improve our work spaces for an open and friendly layout... Yes, as you will have understood, we pamper our teams as we should!

Our objectives for the coming year

In the end, developing a CSR strategy has many advantages: reducing our carbon footprint, raising awareness among our employees, enhancing our commitment to more responsible events, reducing resource consumption, etc. Aware of the environmental emergency and sensitive to ecological and societal issues, we have therefore committed ourselves to an ongoing CSR process. Indeed, it is important to us to maintain a policy of transparency with our clients, suppliers and employees.

This is why we are pleased to share with you our new objectives, that of continuing to support one of our longest-standing partners, Energy Observer, in its innovative approach in favour of the ecological transition and obtaining ISO 20121 certification. It is with great commitment that we are embarking on this project, which is rich in meaning and totally in line with our DNA. We hope to be able to sustainably improve each of our actions in order to give greater consideration to environmental protection. Through the FUGU pillars: governance, team, community and environment, our desire is to commit ourselves (and YOU) to an ethical and responsible approach!

Join us in this adventure and let's design the future of the event industry together!
