Covid-19: Creating a temporary vaccination centre

Vaccination campaigns against COVID-19 are accelerating. Many hospitals are overcrowded and have less capacity. This requires the creation of new temporary reception areas adapted to communities, regions or companies.

New sites requisitioned for vaccination campaigns

The successful implementation of a vaccination campaign depends on several factors, both in terms of human resources and the development of facilities. For this reason, several town halls and other public spaces will be requisitioned to serve as vaccination centres.

Companies will also be able to set up a vaccination centre at the workplace for their employees.

This strategy requires a particular organisation and must be carried out under conditions that require specific equipment.

Complementary structures to fight the Coronavirus crisis

In order to help the emergency teams in the creation and development of these new spaces, we are proposing three of our structures which will allow the creation of temporary testing and vaccination centres, the marking of the area, the information of the population and the management of the flow of people.

Efficient, quick to install and easy to use, our structures can be deployed according to the needs and various areas of intervention in order to :

  • Facilitate access to vaccines.
  • Establish mobile vaccination teams.
  • Create renewed vaccination centres to complement existing structures that may be more appropriate in certain situations and territories.

What structure should be chosen to create an effective ephemeral vaccination centre?

EXPANDABLE CONTAINER

Our mobile structure is an excellent vaccinodrome as it allows us to move from city to city, which can definitely speed up the vaccination process.

Our EXPANDABLE structure as a vaccination centre.

 1- Simple logistics

  • An ultra-mobile structure facilitating "outreach" to the population.
  • Simple deployment in 1 hour by one person.

2- A cleaner environment

  • Air treatment and renewal (1000 m³/h).
  • Sufficient electrical power to ensure the preservation of the vaccine.

3- An optimised and comfortable space

  • An optimised circuit of 63 m³ to vaccinate or test 6 to 8 people at the same time.
  • Heated and air-conditioned structure for the comfort of the nursing staff.
  • PRM access

4- A communication tool

  • A visible means of contact with the population that facilitates exchange and education.

GEODESIC DOMES

Our geodesic domes can be converted into temporary care centres and hospitals and deployed in various locations as required.

  • A range of different surfaces that can combine a vaccination centre and a screening centre (30 to 300 m²)
  • A quick installation.
  • Deployment in various locations.

HUMANITARIAN TENTS

Our GYBE tents are field-proven and can be deployed in minutes to create the ideal vaccination and testing centre.

Our humanitarian tents as vaccination centres.

  • Rapid deployment and simplified transport to save time for rescue teams during assembly.
  • Several tents can be combined to create multiple areas for vaccination, registration and screening.
  • Excellent stability of the tent to cope with the winter climate.

Other practical tips for setting up a temporary vaccination centre

1- Provide an entrance and an exit in each of the requisitioned spaces in order to clear the passageways and avoid the spread of the virus as much as possible.

2- Provideaccess to publictransport andparking to facilitate the movement of people with and without vehicles.

3- Set up a system capable of ensuring the conservation of the vaccine on the one hand and its transport on the other.

4- Provide access for people with reduced mobility.

5- Planning for medical waste management

This strategy will require the mobilization of a skilled workforce trained to manage activities related to deployment and immunization operations. Public health workers will need to be freed up to carry out essential activities.
